I’ve taken my grandfather’s concertina to Roger Thomas (restorer living near Andover) and really look forward to having it restored to it’s former glory (it’s 100+ years old). It will take a few months but I’ll then be looking for someone who can play a McCann Duet to guest at one of my gigs. 😁 Here are two photos of the instrument and my grandfather, Thomas White.
I’m delighted with the lineup for the Budleigh Salterton Gala Week jazz concert, Sunday 27 May. I’ll be working with
Pat Brandon – Piano
Pete Canter – Bass
Jim Newton – Drums
Marius Rudnick – Saxophone
The final two concerts in this series were held on 10 March in the Lady Chapel, Ely Cathedral, and sounded utterly glorious. What a privilege to be part of it.
I’m really looking forward to joining ‘We Are Sound’ for this amazing concert which has now sold out 19 times. Andrea Cockerton, you are an absolute star, what a vision it was. It will sound absolutely glorious in the Lady Chapel in stunning Ely Cathedral. SOLD OUT unfortunately for those who are still hoping for tickets at some stage.
The finishing touches to this beautiful song will be made on 7 March and we just can’t wait to share it with you. Home-grown from the Sinclair ‘stable’ and as different from jazz and blues and you can get.
Sunday 11 February saw us record our beautiful song Lavender and Lace and we’re waiting for the mix! So, keep watching out for it any day soon.
Both Gerry Pruciewicz and Cathy Matthews are absolutely stunning on this track.
Toft’s bi-annual review takes place on Friday and Saturday 26/27 January, and this time we see ‘schoolboys’ taking ballet lessons, the famous ‘chalet-maids’ getting into mischief and I will don my St Trinian’s girl’s uniform to face the headmaster in his study. I’ll serenade him with the glorious song ‘Teach Me Tonight’ to try to win his approval! It’s all crazy and hilarious in typical Toft fashion.
