Friday 14 October – Playing a jazz trio for a function at Lilleshall House and Gardens, Telford. Jazz evening with 3-course dinner. The event will take place in the beautiful Chapters Restaurant, there’s no strict dress code, just smart casual attire. Tickets are on sale now – £40 per person, the event is for over 18s only. Saturday 15 April – The John Yeoman Hall, Burton Latimer. 7.30pm. I’m giving a presentation for the Burton Latimer Heritage Centre, primarily about my grandfather, Tom White, who was a champion player of the McCann Duet Concertina. He was born in Burton Latimer, as were many generations of our family before him. I’ll be tracing his musical roots, as well as my own, and showing his fabulous concertina, now beautifully restored and around 100 years old. We’ll be hearing it as well!!
The second half of the evening is called “Searching for Jo”. This is the account of how I searched for, and found my sister Jo, and she will take part in this as well. She is also Tom White’s granddaughter and this links to two halves of the evening together.
